Conventional and renewable energy sources
Is there any difference between type of energy and energy sources?
The answer is YES.
Energy sources help us, through the different ways, to get energy generate power.
Types of energy means different form of energy as kinetic energy, chemical energy, potential energy and etc.
There are two main types of energy - stored (potential) energy and working (kinetic) energy. For example, the food you eat contains chemical energy, and your body stores this energy until you release it when you work or play.
All forms of energy are stored in different ways, in the energy sources that we use every day.
There are three main categories of energy sources: fossil fuels, renewable sources and nuclear sources.
More about the fossil fuels as coal, petroleum, natural gas and nitrogen you can find in section conventional energy and energy sources.
Additional information about renewable energy sources as solar, wind, hydroelectric, biomass, geothermal power, ocean/tide power, fuel cells, biofuels you can find in section renewable energy sources.
Some information about the nuclear energy and nuclear energy sources you can find in section nuclear energy sources. It's good to know that the nuclear powered sources are fission and fusion.
Before the different types of energy resources and their uses are discussed, it is important to understand a little about the basic laws of energy.
